Joerg Hellwig has more than 40 years of experience in the chemicals and process industry. He combines extensive knowledge in running global businesses with digital transformation skills, using integrated planning tools and organizational restructuring experience, bringing strategy to strong execution.

In his most recent role, Joerg served as Chief Digital Officer at LANXESS, a globally leading specialty chemicals company headquartered in Germany, leading the company’s digital transformation initiative. His focus areas included the digitalization of production and the introduction of new tools and systems throughout all value chains as well as promoting the value of data as an institutional asset for the entire company, and the use of advanced analytics such as artificial intelligence to increase the speed of development and sustainability. 

Joerg founded CheMondis in 2018, now one of the fastest growing B2B online marketplaces for the chemical industry. CheMondis has been leading a massive disruption in the industry, connecting suppliers and customers to increase efficiency and support efforts in sustainability.
