How to Make Change Stick, According to Rhonda Vetere
23 mergers and acquisitions later, Rhonda Vetere
shares her best practices for change management.
Hi. My name is Rhonda Vateri, twenty five year veteran in the industry and technology.
Alright. Wonderful. So my first question is, I'd love to hear your point of view on what a successful digital planning transformation looks like.
Digital means different to different companies. That's a buzzword.
So planning, getting all stakeholders involved, measuring what is the outcome, ways of working, and actually key performance outcomes, what you're trying to do. So, transforming your company is very important. So digital to me means end to end consumer journey means multiple things. So that question to be successful means taking along the journey everyone, educating them, keeping a mind change management, and actually measuring your keys to success.
Then, I think following that, something, that I'm wondering about is Getting all different types of stakeholders on board must be challenging.
What have you seen, like, have have been the biggest challenges in doing that and what have you and your experience done till bring different people on board to the same vision.
Well, metrics are key, managed by facts, not opinions or reception. So I always create a scoreboard. I meet with all the stakeholders one on one at the executive board. And at the board level and actually at the operating committee level and map out what we're trying to do and agree on metrics and then every month report on it, and, of course, that the board meetings report on the data. And that is key. So you get everyone involved. We all learn together, and we all see the same metrics.
Alright. That's a very nice practical and tangible advice. So thank you for that. I'd love for you to talk a little bit about women in diversity.
Absolutely. So I'm a I'm a key proponent of diversity of thought overall in the workplace. I think that's key to building out high performance cultures. Bring diversity of thought, different way of thinking, and make sure, you know, diversity is about females and all genders.
So make sure when you're building out your candidate slate, you do keep that in mind.
And then my last quick question is along the same lines, tactics to reinforce change.
Reinforced change communicate, communicate, communicate. The average human needs to hear it seven to eight times to make it stick.
So don't underestimate the change management work stream and invest in communication and have an executive sponsor to do that That is accountable for that for the company. So change management is close to my heart. I'm happy to help anyone. I've been through three mergers and acquisitions. So I know how to do it right and how to do it wrong, and he learned from every experience.
Alright. Thank you so much. Thank you for your insights and taking a few moments with us during the break, and, we'll let you get on with the rest of the event.
