A Former CSCO’s Insights on Transforming with Clarity and People-Centric Leadership
Gustavo Ghoury shares the importance of clarity and people-centric leadership for a successful transformation.
So Gustavo, thank you so much for joining us today at Aimton X Live London. What is your point of view on a success full transformation program. Well, a successful transformation, we have a few ingredients that I believe are critical or really, succeeded through it.
One is clarity on the conviction that, we need the transformation, and it's connected to the business requirements and business needs. We know that without it, we cannot achieve our ambitious goals. Therefore, we need to transform the way we operate. And then it's very important that we define that transformation in a way that is compelling to our people, compelling to the business in general stakeholders, and that we can help us to define the path forward.
We will not have, a transformation all figure out. We will have big, big, building blocks.
That then we need to be very disciplined on managing and driving, so we can really adjust the plan as we go and, keep keep the organization connected to it, for successful change. Thank you. And you also mentioned change in your discussion earlier. So what would be the first thing that you would suggest leaders to think about when they try to embark on that change journey for the organization.
As leaders, we, we really need to understand not only where we're going with the business.
And what is fit for use in terms of capabilities. But also, where we are as an organization, how do we make them be in shape and in synchrony with the change that we are driving. So it becomes a very important aspect of the whole thing, that we, as leaders, of our people. We really understand that and help them get there.
This is one of the reasons why many have failed, because we forget about the the people element of it. So every successful transformation will combine six things, technology, and people. And people becomes like a prerequisite, preparing them. They don't know what to do.
They don't know, but the new things are, but you need to them for, to be open to the learning process. And then be very close as a leader of the of that transformation because We are the only ones that could adjust it, slow down or accelerate, or being new, new news to it, and adjust the plan accordingly to the to how it goes. Again, as I mentioned before, big blocks, but very important that we get to stay close to to the people really need that transformation because the transformation is not the technology, it's not the investment. It's not even the objective.
It is how we get there. And the how do we get there is without the people is is useless. It's not gonna happen. So, really, it all begins with the mindset shift.
We need to have that message. Thank you so much for your time, and enjoy the rest of the event. Thank you. And, see you later. Thanks. Thanks so much. Take care.
